Setting up your account

When you first sign in we run a short wizard, about a minute, that captures just enough to make Badminton Clubhouse useful for you. It lives at /me/onboarding and adapts to what you tell us, so you only answer what's relevant.

What you'll be asked

1. Your name: what your club and other members will see.
2. Why you're here: tick everything that applies:
   • I play badminton: find games, join clubs, build a play history.
   • I look after a junior who plays: manage a child's club membership.
   • I offer services here: coaching, stringing, physiotherapy, etc.
3. Your date of birth (if you tick "I play"): for age-band routing at clubs and Badminton England registration. Guardians and service providers aren't asked for this. You must be 18 or older to have your own account; under-18s play via a parent or guardian's account.
4. How you play (if you tick "I play"): your skill level, primary format, and dominant hand. Three quick taps.
5. Add your first junior (if you tick "I look after a junior"): name and date of birth. You can add more later from your Juniors page.
6. Set up your services (if you tick "I offer services"): once you finish onboarding you can access your services area from your profile page, where you add the specific services you offer.
7. Your postcode: required if you play, optional otherwise. Only the area is shown to others; we use it to find games and clubs near you.
8. Get the app: install Badminton Clubhouse to your home screen for a fast, full-screen experience. On Android and desktop you can install in one tap; on iPhone and iPad you add it from the Safari Share menu (which is also how iOS lets you turn on notifications). You can skip this and install later from the prompt on your dashboard. See Install the app.
9. Notifications: turn on browser notifications, or skip and configure them later in your profile. Email is always on.

Tip: The wizard saves each step as you go. If you close the tab partway through, you'll pick up exactly where you left off next time you open it.

Changing your mind later

Everything you set here can be changed any time. The Your roles card at the top of Settings lets you switch roles on or off, and the matching sections of the app reveal or hide accordingly. We never delete anything you've entered; switching a role off just hides its sections. See Switching your roles on and off.

If you arrived via an invitation

If a club invited you, the wizard skips the "why are you here" question, the club already knows you're joining as a member, so it goes straight to the essentials. Once you finish, your /me dashboard asks whether anything else also applies (looking after a junior, offering services), so you can grow into the rest of the platform when you're ready.
