Completing Your Profile When Accepting an Invitation
What to expect from the short onboarding flow that runs the first time you accept an invitation with an empty profile
Completing Your Profile When Accepting an Invitation
The first time you accept a club invitation, the platform may ask you to fill in a few essentials before finishing — your name, date of birth, and an emergency contact. This short flow lives at /me/onboarding and runs once per account.
When This Triggers
You'll be sent through onboarding when all of these are true:
- You've just tapped Accept on an invitation.
- Your
player_profileis missing one or more required fields (typically because this is your first time on the platform).
If you already have a complete profile — for example, you've previously joined another club — the invitation is accepted in a single tap and you skip onboarding entirely.
What It Asks For
The flow is split into short steps. The exact steps depend on whether the invitation is for you or for a child you guardian.
Identity (every onboarding)
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
If any of these are already on file, they pre-fill so you can confirm or correct rather than re-type.
Emergency contact (every onboarding)
- Name
- Phone number
- Relationship to you (e.g. spouse, parent)
This is used by your club only in genuine emergencies during sessions. You can update it any time from your profile.
Junior step (guardian-of-junior invitations only)
If the invitation is for a child you guardian, an extra step adds the child to your family:
- Child's first and last name
- Date of birth — pre-filled from the invitation when the club has supplied it
- A few optional details you can fill in now or later
Finishing the Flow
When you've completed every step:
- Your profile (and the child's profile, where applicable) is saved.
- The invitation that started the flow is accepted automatically.
- You're taken into the new club's dashboard.
If you abandon onboarding mid-flow, your invitation is still pending — you can come back any time and pick up where you left off.
You Won't See This Again (Unless You Need It)
Onboarding is a one-time gate, not a recurring nag. Once your profile is complete, future invitations accept in one tap. The only time you'd see it again is if a future invitation needs information that isn't on your profile yet (for example, a junior step for a new child).
