Your home page: the Action Centre

When you sign in, the first thing you see is your Action Centre at /me. It's a single, cross-tenant list of everything that needs your attention right now, across every club you play at, every association you administer, and every friendly game you've been invited to.

What appears here

Items group by kind: not by club. Your mental model is "what needs doing", not "which club is bothering me". Each card shows the tenant (club, association or county) and your role at that tenant so context is never ambiguous.

As a member

  • Playing today: Bookings starting in the next 24 hours.
  • Pay to keep your seat: Bookings where the club requires payment up-front and your soft hold is about to expire.
  • Payments due: Outstanding payment requests across every club and friendly game.
  • Game invitations: Friendly games you've been invited to and haven't responded to.
  • Applications awaiting your reply: Applications you submitted that the club is sitting on.
  • Guardian invitations: Someone has added you as a co-guardian for a junior.
  • Consents to give: Pending consent requests that need your sign-off.
  • Waitlisted bookings: Sessions where you're holding a seat in case one opens.

As a committee member

These only show when you have the relevant permission at a tenant.

  • Applications to review: Pending applications waiting on you (grouped per club).
  • Visit requests to triage: Visitors who've asked to drop in (grouped per club).
  • Overdue payments at your tenant: Payment requests past their due date (grouped per club).
  • Events at capacity: Upcoming events that have hit their booking capacity.
  • Players to greet tonight: Booked players showing up at your peg-board tonight.
  • Match scores to enter: Fixtures you ran where the result hasn't been recorded yet (committee-side, gated on the competition engine).
  • Team selections to make: Open team selections where the deadline hasn't passed (committee-side, gated on the competition engine).

Surveys and coaching

  • Surveys awaiting your response: Open surveys you've been invited to take part in. When a survey is showing here, the banner on your Overview suppresses itself so you don't see it twice.
  • Coach plans to acknowledge: Plans your coach has assigned that need your sign-off (gated on the coaching module).

Urgency and ordering

A coloured stripe on the left edge of each card signals urgency:

  • Amber: overdue. Floats to the top.
  • Blue: due soon (next few days, or starting today).
  • Slate: informational.

Within each group the most urgent item comes first; ties break by recency.

The sidebar badge

The Action Centre entry in the sidebar carries a small count badge, the total number of items waiting. The badge turns amber when any item is overdue. It hides itself when there's nothing to do.

The number caps at 99+.

Empty state

When there's nothing waiting, you'll see three quick links:

  • Find a friendly game
  • Book a session
  • Visit your club (or Find a club, if you haven't joined one yet)

There's also a small link to your full Overview for the longer view.

Clearing items

Every card has a (more) menu to the right of its primary action with three verbs:

  • Snooze: pick "1 hour", "Tomorrow at 8am", "Next week" or "Custom…" to hide the item until then. It'll reappear on its own.
  • Dismiss: clear it from your list. It only comes back if something material about it changes (e.g. a new payment lands → new item, re-surfaces).
  • Mark done: only offered on items that don't naturally clear themselves (events at capacity, surveys). Behaves like Dismiss; the label just matches the mental model better.

Two kinds of item are never snoozable for safeguarding reasons:

  • Guardian invitations: only Dismiss, with a confirmation prompt.
  • Consents to give: same.

Every clear shows a toast at the bottom-left with an Undo button. You have a few seconds to take it back without re-opening the menu.

Undo a clear

The empty state on /me (when nothing else is waiting) includes a Recently completed collapsible, opens to show up to ten items you dismissed or snoozed in the last 24 hours, each with its own Undo. Useful when you cleared the wrong thing or want to bring something back.

Live updates

A small dot next to the page title shows the connection state:

  • Emerald: updates are live: changes from any tab (or any other admin) appear within a second.
  • Slate: updates are still happening, but on a 30-second poll. Browsers occasionally block live websockets; the page silently falls back.
  • The dot is hidden on small screens to keep mobile chrome quiet.

When you do something that should change what's here, pay a request, accept an invitation, settle a booking, the list updates immediately. If a section can't be loaded (rare), you'll see a small amber banner at the top and the rest of the list keeps working.

Where else to look

  • Personal admin (profile, juniors, payments, settings) lives in the avatar dropdown top-right.
  • Per-club admin lives in the club switcher in the header.
  • Your upcoming bookings and the rest of your sessions live in your calendar; the clubs you belong to live at /me/clubs.
  • The notification bell still surfaces things that happened, the Action Centre is for things that need doing.
