Becoming a coach
Register as a coach, add qualifications and CPD that count straight away, and get endorsed by clubs, associations and counties.
Becoming a coach
If you coach badminton, or want to be discoverable as a coach, you can register a coach profile on Badminton Clubhouse. Your profile sits alongside your player profile and unlocks a hub for qualifications, club deployments, and CPD logging.
Register as a coach
- Go to /me/coach from the sidebar or avatar menu.
- Pick your specialisms: choose as many as apply (junior, adult, performance, disability, Women & Girls, general). They all show on your public profile.
- Add a regional base postcode so you appear in /find-a-coach when players search near you.
- Write a short bio: the public-facing description on your coach profile.
- Click Register as a coach.
You can edit any of these later from the same page.
Adding a website? Your public link now lives on your service-provider profile, not the coach page, one website covers every service you offer (coaching, stringing, and so on), not just coaching. Set it under Services → My Services → Edit. It still shows on your public coach profile.
Submit a qualification
- On /me/coach, scroll to the Qualifications card.
- Click Add.
- Pick a level (BE Level 1, BE Level 2, BE Performance, BE Master Coach, International, or Unaffiliated).
- Enter the awarding body (e.g. Badminton England) and the date you achieved the qualification.
- Optionally paste an evidence URL: a link to the certificate, course completion, or BE coach hub page.
- Click Add.
The qualification counts straight away, there's no waiting for approval. Each qualification shows a trust badge:
- Self-declared: added by you, not yet endorsed.
- Endorsed by {tenant}: a club, association, or county you're affiliated to has vouched for it.
- Verified by Badminton England: the authoritative tier, applied by BE.
Adding an evidence link makes it easy for an affiliated tenant to endorse you. You can Remove a qualification any time from the Qualifications card, this permanently deletes it and any endorsements it has.
A qualification with an expiry date automatically shows as expired once that date passes. It stays on your profile (clearly marked), but an expired qualification no longer counts toward your level in /find-a-coach.
Add a deployment
A deployment records where you're currently coaching. This is separate from your club membership, a member might not coach, and a coach might be deployed to a club without being a member.
- On /me/coach, scroll to the Deployments card.
- Click Add.
- Pick a club (you can only pick clubs where you're an active member).
- Choose your role (head coach, assistant coach, volunteer coach, session lead, or external contractor).
- Enter your start date and an estimated weekly hours commitment.
- Click Add deployment.
When you leave a club, click End on the deployment and pick the end date. This keeps the national pipeline data accurate.
Log CPD activity
Badminton England's coach scheme expects continuous professional development (CPD), roughly 6 points per year.
- On /me/coach, scroll to the CPD log card.
- Click Log activity.
- Pick the activity kind (course, workshop, mentoring, delivery, self-study, conference).
- Enter how many points the activity is worth.
- Pick the date you completed it.
- Describe what you did and what you learned.
- Optionally paste an evidence URL.
- Click Log activity.
CPD entries count toward your annual currency as soon as you log them; your CPD bar updates overnight. Like qualifications, each entry can be endorsed by a tenant you're affiliated to.
What's public
Your public coach profile at /coaches/[your-handle] shows:
- Your display name, specialisms, and website link (if set)
- Your bio
- Your qualifications and their trust badges (expired ones are marked)
- The clubs where you're currently deployed (archived deployments stay private)
- Your CPD currency badge
What stays private:
- Archived deployments
- CPD log details and evidence URLs
- Your full date-of-birth, contact details, etc.
Discoverability
You appear in /find-a-coach if your profile is active and you've set a regional base postcode. Qualifications give you a level badge, and endorsements signal trust. The search ranks higher levels first.
