Find your box, arrange your games, report results, and see how you move up or down between periods.
Playing in a box league
A box league puts you in a small group, your box, of entrants around your standard. Over each period you play everyone in your box once. Do well and you move up a box for the next period; finish near the bottom and you move down. It is a friendly way to keep playing competitive games against people at your level.
Finding your box
Open the competition's public page and go to the Boxes tab. Your box shows the other entrants in it and the games you each need to play, alongside your box's standings table.
Arranging your games
Every game in your box is self-arranged, you and your opponent agree a date and venue between yourselves. Each fixture carries a play-by date, the end of the current period, so aim to get it played well before then. See Arrange your fixture for how to propose and confirm a date.
Reporting a result
Once you have played, report the score the same way as any self-arranged match: one side submits, the other confirms. See Submitting a singles or pairs result.
Moving between boxes, joining late, and dropping out
What happens at the end of a period, who moves up, who moves down, what the notifications look like, is covered in full in Box league periods and movement. In short: finish near the top of your box and you move up for the next period, finish near the bottom and you move down, and if you join partway through you start in the bottom box. If you withdraw, you simply leave the box and the standings close up beneath you.
